Useful Links

Hello.

Here is where I will be posting useful or interesting links.  I enjoy using open source software whenever possible, and will post some of my more frequently used tools here for visitors to download.

Also, if any of you are interested in my professional credentials or in what I am doing in graduate school, click here to visit my university webpage.

Thank you!

Computer Management

CCleaner — This is a favorite software of mine.  It is used to speed up your computer by removing useless files such as cookies and other stored data.  There are both paid and free versions.

7Zip — An excellent open source file archiver.  You can use this tool to compress files to make them easier to transfer or to open files that have already been compressed.

Open Source Image Editors

GIMP — My favorite open source photo editor.  This is an open source version of Photoshop.  I use it to edit photos and any other bitmap editing tasks.

Inkscape — Inkscape is an excellent vector graphics editor.  It has similar capabilities to Adobe Illustrator.

Security

Malware Bytes — Malware Bytes is a good piece of software for clearing off dangerous programs.  It is not a complete substitute for an anti-virus software, but is still a very useful piece of software.  There is a free version as well as a paid version with more capabilities.
